David Lintner, M.D., specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder and is active in teaching orthopedic surgeons the latest techniques. He also specializes in injuries to throwers’ shoulders and elbows, having written more than thirty scientific articles about ACL injuries, thrower’s injuries, and other sports medicine issues.
He is the founder and Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship training program at The Methodist Hospital. In 2009, he lectured at international sports medicine meetings in Osaka, Japan and Edinburgh, Scotland. In June 2005, Dr. Lintner was named Chief of Sports Medicine at The Methodist Hospital in Houston after serving in a similar capacity at Baylor College of Medicine for four years. He is the past President of the Major League Baseball Team Physicians Association, and a member of the Baseball Commissioner’s Medical Advisory Committee. He served as the physician for the World Baseball Classic in 2009. In 2000, he was selected Traveling Fellow for the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine and went on a three week tour of Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Japan where he was a Visiting Professor at multiple universities as well as the National Sports Councils in Malaysia and Hong Kong.
